Dentures

Dentures are removable false teeth created to replace missing teeth. They can be either full dentures, which replace all of your original teeth, or can be partial dentures, which are used as an alternative to a fixed bridge or implant to fill gaps. Dentures can help prevent problems with eating and speech, and can improve the appearance of your smile.  Generally available as either acrylic (plastic), flexible or metal dentures. Your dentist can discuss the options with you.

 

The flexible (Nylon) partial dentures are lightweight, very thin and strong, with the colour, shape and design blending in well with the natural appearance of the gums. Many people find the flexible dentures very comfortable to wear as they do not have the bulky heavy feeling.

 

Quality metal (cobalt-chrome) dentures resembling natural looking teeth are strong and less likely to fracture, and are smaller and not palate-covering so do not feel as bulky and heavy as acrylic plastic dentures.
